Lance's series of Writers’ Workshops are specifically designed for students from grade levels four through eight.  Click here for honoraria details.

There are two different workshops available for elementary and middle schools:

One-Day Workshops begin with an introductory assembly for all grade levels involved (or two assemblies if necessary for larger schools) followed by writing workshops on brainstorming and getting started.  The afternoon sessions deal with first drafts and revising, and are followed by a wrap-up assembly at the end of the day.

Two-Day Workshops offer a more in-depth version of the one-day program, with a half-day devoted to each phase of the writing process.  The first session is dedicated to brainstorming lessons and activities to teach students how to get started; the second session is spent demonstrating how to write a revisable first draft.  Session three focuses on the art of revising and rewriting, and the last session features sharing and critiquing what the students have written in the workshops, followed by a brief culminating assembly at the end of the second day.
